Renew your SBCA Certification for another 24 months by taking the online recertification test

You must have previously held a SBCA certification to take the online recertification test. If you are seeking SBCA certification for the first time, please CLICK HERE
If you hold multiple certification levels, you need only recertify the highest level certification as it supersedes the lower ones. Example: If you have both Satellite Fundamentals and MDU/SMATV Essentials certifications expiring, you need only renew the MDU/SMATV Essentials Certification

There is an online review guide included with the recertification fee so it is not necessary to purchase an additional manual

There will be questions on the exam that are not included in the guide. Technicians are expected to know the answers to these questions and have been adhering to them

The test is 50 questions which must be completed within 1 hour of starting the first question. You need an 85% or better to pass. Should you not pass you will be eligible for 1 free retake

There is no limit to the time you take to prefer for the test, only the test itself is timed

Membership status is determined by whether the technician pays annual dues or is directly employed by a company that pays annual dues to the SBCA (the company name must be provided with the order form)

Ordering Recertification Tests

If you have forgotten your certification number, it is not necessary to purchase the recertification test
- SBCA staff verifies the information on all orders and will contact you if there is a problem with your order
Choose the appropriate recertification test and click on Buy One Now
Choose member/non-member status, then click Continue
When prompted to login, use the option Place Order Without Account (directly below store home)
- An account created here is for the convenience of repeat customers placing orders through the online store
- The testing site requires a separate account that is unrelated to the store
Review that the Price, Quantity, and Product are correct.
- If you have made a mistake, click on the Yellow Shopping Cart Icon and make edits to your purchase
- Once your order has been corrected, click Update Cart and then Check Out
For payment processing purposes, fill out your billing and shipping information, then click Continue
Select your payment type, then click Continue
Enter your payment information, then click Continue
Clicking Continue will place your order and send an order confirmation via e-mail
- This email may be filtered into your Spam or Bulk Mail Folders
- Be sure you check these folders as well as your inbox for this email
- A second email will be sent within 2 business days providing you instructions to access your recertification test
