In response to this the SBCA, in conjunction with the industry Education Working Group, is developing online modules with updated product and technology information to assist certified technicians in broadening their knowledge.  These modules start at $25 and are available to technicians who have current SBCA Residential or Commercial certification.

 

DIRECTV Ka/Ku Certification - Discusses the specific technology of DIRECTV's Ka/Ku system and installation requirements (residential certification required). Cost $25 MDU / SMATV Prerequisite  - Designed to provide students with the background information they need to successfully pass the Commercial Course.  This course covers:  frequencies used in satellite distribution, how to properly calculate voltage and wattage, Ohm's Law and more (residential certification required).  Techs must successfully complete this module in order to take the Commercial Course.  To order this module, click on the module name and include your name, mailing address, and current certification number in the e-mail.  Free NAS MFH1 Prerequisite - This module is a requirement for students who plan on taking the MFH1 course. It is designed to ensure students can accurately understand the design and installation of the MFH1 system.
